Jesus is the real boss

CHRIST THE KING WITH ANGELS

Tired at meeting the deadlines?

Tired typing on the computer to get the work done?

Do you work for your self or just to please the boss?

We know that your boss can be replaced after many years.

Why do you want to please someone who will not hold that authority forever?

Who is our real boss?

He sits on a throne

Like a boss

Jesus is our real Boss

When you work at 8am, you serve Jesus

When you meet up with your clients, you work for Jesus.

Jesus is our real King.

We call him, Christ the King.

And his kingdom will never end.

His kingdom will last forever.

His authority is over the entire universe.

Stop pleasing your boss and your coworkers.

Instead, think that you work for Jesus and not for men.

In whatever you do, you are an employee of Jesus.

Start working today with a smile : )

First Reading Ephesians 6:1-9
Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father and mother” (this is the first commandment with a promise), “that it may be well with you and that you may live long on the earth.” Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. Slaves, be obedient to those who are your earthly masters, with fear and trembling, in singleness of heart, as to Christ; not in the way of eye-service, as men-pleasers, but as servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart, rendering service with a good will as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that whatever good any one does, he will receive the same again from the Lord, whether he is a slave or free. Masters, do the same to them, and forbear threatening, knowing that he who is both their Master and yours is in heaven, and that there is no partiality with him.
What does the verse mean to me?
  • Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right
  • God wants us to follow our parents here on earth
  • Honor your father and mother
  • this is the first commandment with a promise, that it may be well with you and that you may live long on the earth
  • If we follow our parents, we will be blessed and live longer
  • Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord
  • following the parents is not a 1 way street
  • Fathers should not make his children angry
  • Fathers should discipline the children following God’s commandments
  • Fathers have that spiritual authority on their children
  • So many men who follows the ways of the world, end up not becoming the father that their children needs
  • So many men who walk out and separate from their families thru divorce and separates also from their children
  • Divorce is not only among the parents, it affects the children
  • No matter how you want to say it, it will always have an impact on your children, when it comes to divorce
  • That effect will influence your children how they see the world, how they treat others
  • As a Christian, we should never say yes to divorce, no matter how convenient it is for the parents
  • Did these parents ask their children if they want their parents to be separated?
  • When you separate from your husband/wife, you do not forsee the effect on your child. You are selfish.
  • Stop thinking about yourself. Think about your children.
  • Slaves, be obedient to those who are your earthly masters, with fear and trembling, in singleness of heart, as to Christ
  • Nowadays, we are no longer called slaves
  • But in reality, if your are working and do not own a business, you serve someone
  • Either in a company, no matter how big or small
  • not in the way of eye-service, as men-pleasers, but as servants of Christ
  • rendering service with a good will as to the Lord and not to men
  • knowing that whatever good any one does, he will receive the same again from the Lord, whether he is a slave or free
  • When we work for others, we serve the Lord
  • When you do your job, you work for God
  • God is the real boss
  • You give service to God and not men
  • Do you hate the deadlines? Think that God is your boss
  • When you type into the computer, God is the boss.
  • Masters, do the same to them, and forbear threatening, knowing that he who is both their Master and yours is in heaven, and that there is no partiality with him.

Mt story: As a daughter

  • How many times, have I not followed the instructions of my parents?
  • I created a wall with one of my parents. Until now I still pray for it.
  • May God continue to heal my family
  • I do not know when, where or how
  • My parents separated and it affected all of us along the way
  • Thru the years, we did our best to accept the pain and sacrifice of my mom for the family
  • Without her, we do not know where we will be
  • Abandoned eventually by my father, he left the family
  • And that wall of separation continues today
  • We have all separate lives, and have grown apart
  • The values my father share is entirely different from mine
  • He was into gambling, drinking beer and listens to his friends more than us, his children
  • His vices were more important than us
  • And such decisions became a dividing wall
  • I honestly do not understand, how a vice can be more important than your children
  • how gambling is more important than your children
  • how drinking beer is more important than your children
  • How drinking is more important than the feelings of your children
  • Only God can change the heart of a person
  • Only God can touch our hearts
  • that is why I need God in my life
  • So I can eventually tell my self, the scars are fully healed
  • I continuously pray for my brothers
  • may we be able to forgive all our family members, though the scars are so difficult to heal
  • forgiveness is a process
  • And will take longer if the pain and sufferings took years
  • I am sure God understands us where we are now
  • God instead became my Father when I had none
  • God blessed the family along the way
  • From poverty, thru my mom’s sacrifice of working in a far country, my brothers and I were able to go to school
  • before her sacrifice, we were so poor back then
  • We were not able to eat 3x a day at some point
  • Not able to go to the common grocery store, as we prefer wet market for cheaper price of food
  • She was the father and mother at the same time
  • May the Lord continue to bless the family and may love and forgiveness flow in our household
Gospel Luke 13:22-30
22He went on his way through towns and villages, teaching, and journeying toward Jerusalem.23And some one said to him, “Lord, will those who are saved be few?” And he said to them,24“Strive to enter by the narrow door; for many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able.25When once the householder has risen up and shut the door, you will begin to stand outside and to knock at the door, saying, `Lord, open to us.’ He will answer you, `I do not know where you come from.’ 26Then you will begin to say, `We ate and drank in your presence, and you taught in our streets.’ 27But he will say, `I tell you, I do not know where you come from; depart from me, all you workers of iniquity!’ 28There you will weep and gnash your teeth, when you see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God and you yourselves thrust out. 29And men will come from east and west, and from north and south, and sit at table in the kingdom of God. 30And behold, some are last who will be first, and some are first who will be last.”
What does the verse mean to me?
  • “Lord, will those who are saved be few?”
  • Strive to enter by the narrow door
  • for many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able
  • When once the householder has risen up and shut the door, you will begin to stand outside and to knock at the door, saying, `Lord, open to us.’
  • He will answer you, `I do not know where you come from.’
  • Then you will begin to say, `We ate and drank in your presence, and you taught in our streets.’
  • But he will say, `I tell you, I do not know where you come from; depart from me, all you workers of iniquity!’
  • There you will weep and gnash your teeth, when you see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God and you yourselves thrust out.
  • And men will come from east and west, and from north and south, and sit at table in the kingdom of God.
  • And behold, some are last who will be first, and some are first who will be last.”
  • I am glad that Jesus mentioned to his fellow Israelites that in the future gentiles will be welcome to sit at the kingdom of God
  • thru Jesus we are welcome in God’s presence
  • Thru, our boss, Jesus, our future is secure
  • However, for us to enjoy our forever with God we have to go thru trials, and tests from God, that is why narrow gate
  • It is difficult to follow God
  • because it is easier to be selfish and follow our whims
  • Because following God will strip off our pride
  • Because follwing God will take a lot of reflection and change
  • Sometimes we are not ready for it
  • But we need to put in mind, we work for Jesus now
  • Jesus is our boss
  • Jesus knows what we have to go thru in following him
  • Jesus guides us in our journey thru the narrow gate
  • And Jesus will triumph when we fall on the ground
  • He will pick you up, when it is so difficult to stand up again.

Believe in the authority of Jesus all over the earth and the universe.
